- 1). Position the dinking fountain next to the aquarium and remove the top lid of the fountain. Drill two 0.72-inch holes (next to each other) in the lid.
- 2). Loop the transparent tubing (in its middle) six to eight times. Ensure that sufficient tubing remains on each end to span the distance from the water cooler to the aquarium.
- 3). Tie the loops loosely together with four cable ties to form coils. Place the flexible tubing coils in the drinking fountain's tub compartment (water reservoir).
- 4). Fill the drinking cooler with water and plug it into a wall power source. Push one end of the 12-foot flexible tubing through one of the holes in the drinking cooler's lid (from the inside). Run this end of the tubing to the aquarium.
- 5). Push this end of the 12-foot long flexible tubing over the exhaust nozzle of the 600-gallon per hour submersible power head.
- 6). Position the power head in the aquarium. Push the other end of the 12-foot transparent tubing up through the second hole in the lid of the drinking fountain from the inside.
- 7). Run this end of the tubing to the aquarium and place the end in the water. Secure this end of the tubing to the rim of the aquarium with a plastic clamp.
- 8). Drill two ½ -inch holes in the canopy (through which the "exit" and "return" pipes can be placed) of the aquarium if it has one.
- 9). Turn on the drinking fountain. Plug the submersible pump into an electrical timer. Set the timer to run for an hour's duration every other hour. Plug the timer into a wall power source and turn it on.

Monitor the temperature of the aquarium. Adjust the electrical timer to run the submersible pump (water into the cooler, where it is cooled through the tube coils) for either longer or shorted periods, depending on the temperature reading in the aquarium.
