- 1). Wash and dry the plates removing any residue or fingerprints. Lay the plates bottom-side up.
- 2). Cut fabric into 2-inch squares if using fabric with a small print. For large prints, cut motifs, such as flowers, from the fabric discarding the background.
- 3). Arrange the pieces on the plate backs until you have cut enough fabric.
- 4). Set the fabric aside and pour some decoupage glue onto the disposable dish.
- 5). Paint the decoupage glue thinly onto the plate applying pieces of fabric printed side down.
- 6). Overlap fabric, adding additional glue when needed, to cover the entire surface. For large motifs leave areas between the fabric pieces according to the desired look.
- 7). Trim fabric around the plate's edge when needed.
- 8). Let the glue dry then apply a coat over the entire backside's surface to coat the fabric. Apply another coat after the first is dry. Drying time varies on temperature and humidity.
