- 1). Remove everything in the steel shed. Throw away old gardening equipment or storage that has expired or no longer useful. Organize tools, gardening equipment or hobby materials in sealable plastic bins. Label the bins on the side, so that you can easily identify their contents.
- 2). Cut the utility lines running to the shed. Turn off the electrical lines from a breaker in the house. Cut wires within the storage shed. If you are unsure the location of the wires, contact a utility and plumbing company to come out and cut the wires for you.
- 3). Place a ladder next to the utility shed. Pry out the nails holding the roof on the shed with a pry bar. Place old nails in a container or throw away bent nails. Lift the pieces of roof and throw them in one pile next to the shed.
- 4). Pry the nails off of the steel siding. Pull the siding off of the shed and roll it up. Set it next to pieces of old roof. Remove the nails from the wooden structure from the top to the bottom. Take off the cross members first and move on to the beams.
- 5). Load up all shed debris in a truck or van. Drive debris to the nearest dump.
