- 1). Open an Internet browser and go to maps.google.com. Double-click on an area of the map to zoom in, and use the zoom slider on the left side of the screen to zoom out. Position the map on a section you wish to print.
- 2). Click on "Link" in the upper right corner of the screen and select the code in the box labeled "Paste HTML to embed in website." Press "Ctrl"+"C" on the keyboard to copy the code.
- 3). Right-click on an empty part of the desktop and select "New" and then "Text Document." Open the new document and press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste the HTML code into the document.
- 4). Select the number "425" after the "iframe350" after the "height=" code to a new number for the pixel height of the map. For example, changing the width to "894" and changing the height to "690" would result in an image size equal to a full sheet of paper printed using landscape formatting on a standard 8.5- by 11-inch sheet of printing paper and the standard Paint DPI of 81 dots per inch.
- 5). Click "File" and "Save As." Name the file "Google Map.html" and save it. Close the text editor, then open the "Google Map.html" file in an Internet browser. The map may take a while to load depending on the map's size.
- 6). Press the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard, typically located next to the Function keys at the top of the keyboard. Then click the "Start" menu and select "All Programs," then "Accessories." Click on "Paint."
- 7). Press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste the screen capture into the Paint image. Use the "Selection" tool in the upper left corner of the Paint program to select only the area of the image you wish to print, then press "Ctrl"+"X" to cut it.
- 8). Click "File" and "New" to open a new image, and do not save the changes to the old image. Press "Ctrl"+"V" to paste the selection into the new image. Click "File" and "Save As" to save the image.
- 9). Turn on the printer and click "File," then "Print." Use the "Print" menu to print the map. Click the "Properties" button next to the printer selection box and under "Page Setup" choose "Landscape" to print the image using a landscape format. Click "Page Setup" and select "Poster Printing" to print the image using individual squares. Click "OK" and "OK" again to begin printing.
