Sound good? As one travels to Messianic congregations across the country to minister in music, you may something...
so many congregations contain at least one person who writes original Messianic music.
Be it the Rabbi, or a congregant, homegrown Messianic music flourishes...
but nobody knows that these songwriters exist.
These songwriters are a blessing to their families, and perhaps to their own home congregations, but nobody outside that inner circle ever gets to hear these songs.
And a lot of these songs are really good! We all have our top five Messianic artists.
However, there are 500 artists out there just waiting to be heard.
The Lord is putting a passion in some people's hearts to bring awareness to the anointed music that G-d is writing across the Messianic movement.
Now there are sites where anyone whom the Lord writes songs through can upload their songs (their "Psalms"), create their own "Book of Psalms," and offers them to the body of Messiah for sale or for free.
As well, they can take advantage of promotional offerings, which includes posting their music on Facebook and YouTube, and being the featured psalmist on the website homepage.
Psalm 40:3 states, "He put a New Song in my mouth.
" That verse doesn't just apply to professional musicians signed to record labels.
It applies to all of us.
I am really excited about so many of the Psalmists that the Lord is writing music through.
Unknown to the world but known by G-d.
These are beautiful, anointed songs that deserve a place in congregational praise and worship sets, and in the CD collections of worshipers.
My prayer is that the Messianic body takes advantage of this offering, and utilizes such sites as a place to find fresh, new praise and worship music.
