- 1). Clean the CD thoroughly with soft paper towels and white vinegar. This will remove any grease or dirt so that the primer will stick to the CD.
- 2). Lightly sand the CD to roughen up the surface. This will make the primer adhere better to the CD.
- 3). Apply one coat of acrylic paint primer to the CD. Paint the primer on by painting in a straight line from the outside edge of the CD to the center of the CD. This technique will prevent ridges from forming in the paint, which can happen if the painting is done in a circular motion. Allow the CD to dry completely.
- 4). Sand the dry primer coat on the CD very lightly with 100-grit sandpaper. Wipe the CD clean with a tack cloth to remove all of the dust. It is now ready to be painted upon.
