Thanksgiving Day is celebrated with fun and joy all over America and Canada.
It is a harvest festival, and is traditionally considered as a day, when people thank nature for giving them what they have.
This gratitude is expressed by celebrations and get-together in family and friends.
Any celebration is incomplete with-out food.
Thanksgiving Day is celebrated with lot of good yummy recipes, from a traditional turkey, to a pie and other side dishes and sweets delicacies.
Today, I shall share two recipes which my kids and niece and nephew love.
Most Thanksgiving feast has Turkey as one of the main dishes.
Try this turkey recipe and you will be appreciated for your gourmet skills.
Golden Barbecued Turkey Clean 10 pound of turkey.
Oil the turkey and place it on the hot barbecue till all sides turn golden, make a paste of 3 tablespoons chicken soup powder, 2 teaspoon of onion powder, 2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder,1 teaspoon of paprika, 2 teaspoon of lemon juice, salt to taste and water for the paste consistency.
Apply the paste to the turkey from all sides and cornet and wrap it in with a foil.
Place this wrapped and marinated turkey to barbecue for 3 to 4 hours for the most succulent and golden Turkey.
You could also alternatively marinate the turkey with a paste of 1 cup sour cream with handful of mint leaves, 1 teaspoon each of onion, ginger and garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and 1/8th teaspoon powdered cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves, and 1 table spoon of oil and 1 spoon of honey.
Wrap the bird in an aluminum foil and leave it in the refrigerator for 2 hrs.
Bake or grill till cooked and brown.
Peanut Cheese Balls Another interesting and fun filled item that kids love is Peanut Cheese Balls.
Very easy to make and irresistible in taste, the ingredients of this recipe are - 1.
8 ounce of cream cheese 2.
1 cup powdered sugar 3.
1 cup peanut butter with chunks of peanut preferably.
4.
2 Tablespoon dark brown sugar 5.
Peanut morsels and chocolate flakes Mix the cream cheese with sugar, brown sugar and the peanut butter and pack it in plastic wrap to refrigerate.
You can make one large ball and cut later, or make many small wraps in the shape of a ball, and cool.
After about 2 hours, this cheese ball is set and firm.
Take the peanut morsels and chocolate flakes in a flat dish or plate.
Unwrap the cool cheese balls and roll then in the peanut chocolate morsels.
You may have to press the nuts and chocolate covered ball for firm sticking.
Place these peanut chocolate covered cheese balls back into the fridge to cool before serving.
Wrap it like a chocolate if you wish to surprise the kids, or you may serve it with a cracker stick.
Enjoy this Thanksgiving Day with new fun filled and tasty dishes and make this day a memorable one to cherish!
