How to make an arch from Helium Balloons.
My husbands parents had a fiftieth wedding anniversary a few years ago.
Since he is an only child, we hosted a 50th Anniversary party for them.
I love to decorate for parties so we came up with a lot of good decorating ideas.
My sister and her family came to help us.
One of my ideas was to make 2 arches of balloons as part of the decorations.
My sister didn't believe I could perform this simple task.
I set out to show her different.
I studied and found this was really a simple thing to do.
Here are the three steps that you need to take to make a balloon arch.
1.
Get a helium tank and about 25 balloons for each arch.
We made two arches, one in gold balloons and one in white balloons.
2.
Fill the balloons with helium and knot them to fishing string once you have filled them.
3.
Place a weight on each side of the string so that they are held down.
I used a molded rose that was made to hold a curtain in.
I just placed in flat on the ground and tied the string through the hole.
You can slide the balloons to place them where you want.
As you move the two weights you will change the size of the arch.
The best arches will be made when you have high ceilings as we did.
This is a great decoration to add to any party and so simple and inexpensive.
We were able to rent the helium tank and buy just the balloons we needed.
The total cost was around $20 and it was certainly a conversation piece.
A lot of photos were taken of families standing under the arch.
I hope you understand how simple this is and try to use it the next party you have.
It really makes the other decorations come together.
You can place the cake under it or maybe even put a background behind it to take photos under!
