- 1). Turn on your computer and make sure that your wireless connection is active. To determine this, click Start, Settings and Control Panel. Search for the Network Connections icon and click on it. If you are able to see your wireless connection icon, it will say enabled, active or connected. If it shows as disabled, you will need right click the icon and select Enable to turn it on.
- 2). Download the free "Easy Wifi Radar" software from the Makayama website.
- 3). Install the software by selecting the Save File option. Be sure that your computer has a way to open zip files since the program is in the Zip format.
- 4). Allow the program to install and select the Easy Wifi Radar icon to open for the first time. The program will search for wireless signals located in your area and connect to any location that is publicly accessible or at least does not require a password to connect to it.
- 1). Right click on the small computer icon in your task bar near the computer clock.
- 2). Select "View Available Wireless Networks."
- 3). Select the network that allows you to connect.
