How to Propagate Banana Peppers

    • 1). Dig up the soil, about a foot deep, where the banana peppers will be planted. Make sure you have chosen a full-sun location. This is where the plants will receive a minimum of six hours of sunlight per day.

    • 2). Pour about an inch of compost over the planting area. Work it into the ground soil to the depth of about 1 foot. Rake the ground even.

    • 3). Poke a 1/4-inch-deep hole, with your finger, about every 18 inches. Drop a seed in each hole and push the soil over the top.

    • 4). Spray water over the planted area, gently. Repeat the water spraying each day, keeping the soil moist. Do not overwater, causing the soil to turn to mud. If your weather is very warm and dry, you may need to water more often. If the soil is not kept moist, the seeds will not germinate.

    • 5). Water about once a day, when the soil becomes dry, after the seedlings appear.

    • 6). Pick the banana peppers when they turn from green to yellow. Cut the stem of the pepper with a scissors, as pulling may damage the plant.
