There are some myths about cat people that have created the "crazy cat lady" term.

A pet can provide companionship if people cannot or choose not to have children.
A cat does not like to share its home with another one.
A hoarder is obsessed with cats and is an exception to the rule.
Tea cozies and the color pink is not preferred by them.
People who knit are not necessarily fond of knitting with a cat on their lap.
Owners may read a book, watch TV or just relax with one on their lap.
Cat people are not evil or sinister.
A person who own a black cat is not witch or demon.
Halloween is not a time when they come out and do crazy things.
