- 1). Cast on a stitch using the backwards loop cast-on method. Twist it to secure, then continue casting on the desired number of stitches.
- 2). Knit every row. It's nearly impossible to tell the difference between garter stitch (knitting every row) and stockinette stitch (alternating knitting and purling) when knitting with wire.
- 3). Knit until piece is the desired length.
- 4). Cast off as you normally would with yarn. Using a crochet hook to help catch cast-off loops can be helpful.
- 5). Weave in wire ends and use the wire snips to clip them closely. Make sure there is no wire end exposed that can poke you.
- 6). "Block" the piece to your desired shape by pulling on the wire, evening out the piece or bending it into different shapes.
