Dirty Dancing is one of the most popular films of all time and also one of the hot favourite musicals of the West End.
Not only does the musical touch on issues of adolescent sex, first discoveries, and spotty youth independence, it also addresses the issues of heartfelt sacrifice as it pulls audience members into a revisited ensemble of the popular music from the film.
Filled with nostalgia, Eleanor Bergstein, the original film writer, brings the audience back to the American times of political division, social and racial injustice and economic discord.
Even so, rich and spectacular scenes are woven into the musical with new twists for a brilliant weekend of entertainment.
The Dirty Dancing Storyline You will be taken in by the coming-of-age story of Frances "Baby" Houseman as she goes on holiday in the Catskills Mountains at the Kellerman's Resort.
Baby experiences her own unique lessons about life and about the exciting world of dancing.
During this live show that is based on the original blockbuster film, the 17-year-old Baby can't wait to get away from the drudgery of resort activities that her parents expect her to participate in while on holiday.
Instead, she ventures out to the staff quarters and discovers a whole new world of raunchy moves and ecstatic musical rhythms.
She discovers the sexy and tempting moves of the heart-throbbing dance instructor, Johnny Castle.
However, before she is taught the lusty and romantic moves by Johnny, Baby begins an emotional love-at-first site experience that ultimately leads to a self-sacrificing moment.
Music Those that purchase their Dirty Dancing tickets will find that it is still centred on the favourite musical elements of the film, and it is even more enjoyable up close.
