- 1). Place "Emerald" in the GBA slot on the bottom of your DS.
- 2). Load your "Diamond" game file.
- 3). Travel to Route 203, 204, 210, 229 or the Eterna Forest. All of these areas are in the central or western sections of the Sinnoh mainland, except for Route 229, which is on the island northeast of the mainlaind.
- 4). Explore your chosen area until you encounter a Pineco. This Pokemon has an eight-percent appearance rate in all of the areas, but you will find the strongest Pineco on Route 229.
- 5). Attack Pineco to lower its health. It is weak to Flying-, Rock- and Fire-type attacks, so be careful not to overwhelm it with those moves. If you accidentally knock out the Pokemon, look for another specimen.
- 6). Throw a PokeBall to capture Pineco.
