- 1). Figure out your total points upon retirement. To calculate these points, you must add up all the years of service you have contributed, any special service you attended (such as active duty training or active duty), and which branch of the Reserves you served in---Active Guard Reserves, Troop Program Unit or Individual Mobilization Program.
- 2). Log on to the website listed in Resources. This calculator will estimate your total retirement package. Enter the following information: name, year of birth, grade at retirement (rank), total years of service, and the total amount of points you have accumulated (see Step 1).
- 3). Click "calculate." The website will generate an estimate of your retirement pay when you turn 60. If you retire prior to turning 60, your estimate will be lower---the U.S. Army Reserve's system is based on this retirement age.
- 4). Contact your local U.S. Army Reserve station or the Communications Hub office (listed in Location) if you have questions about your retirement pay, such as when you can expect your pay to begin, and if any additional forms are needed to begin stipend payments.
