How to Convert CM3 to ATM

  • 1). Check the reference pressure and the reference volume of the gas sample. Write down the pressure in atm and the volume in cm3.

  • 2). Note the volume data value in cm3 that needs converting to pressure in atm. Divide the reference volume by the volume data value. For example, if the reference volume is 1,000 cm3 and the data value is 800 cm3, the answer is 1.25. Write down your answer.

  • 3). Multiply your answer by the reference pressure. For example, if your answer is 1.25 and the reference pressure is 2 atm, the result is 2.5 atm. Record the result.

  • 4). Check your calculations. The result is the volume data value in cm3 converted to the corresponding gas pressure in atm.
