How to Clean Pesticides Off of Fruits and Vegetables

    • 1). Hold the fruits or vegetables under cool running water. Allow the water to run between any leaves and crevices.

    • 2). Rub the fruits and vegetables with your hands to remove any dirt or debris. Scrub very dirty produce, such as root vegetables and mushrooms, with a produce brush.

    • 3). Peel fruits and vegetables known to contain a wide array of pesticides, such as potatoes, apples and peaches to reduce pesticide exposure.
