- 1). Visit the OpenOffice website (see "Resources"). Click the link that says "I want to download OpenOffice.org."
- 2). Click the large download button that appears below the download link. Click "Save File" in the pop-up dialog box. Save the file to your desktop, or wherever you prefer.
- 3). Close all open browser windows or other currently running software programs.
- 4). Double click the OpenOffice icon in the saved location. Hit "Next" on the pop-up box. Enter a location for your files and click "Unpack."
- 5). Click "Next" when your files have unpacked. Type in a user name for your account. Select "Complete" for the set-up type unless you want to alter which files you receive. Hit "Install." Follow any additional instructions as prompted.
