- 1). Draw a square to show the shape and position of the head.
- 2). Add a squire to rough out the shape of the chest and a smaller square to show the shape of the abdomen. Create small squares for each shoulder.
- 3). Sketch lines to reveal the shape and position of each limb. These lines should be skeletal pose guidelines.
- 4). Refine the humanoid form that you have created. Round out the head and taper the chin. Flesh out the shape of the torso, using your construction as a guide.
- 5). Add volume to the arms and legs, using your guidelines as a center to form the limbs around.
- 6). Continue to smooth out the form and add musculature.
- 7). Start the hand with a square for the palm, and sketch guidelines for the fingers. Flesh out the shape of the hands after you have created a pose for them.
- 8). Add feet by drawing a rectangle to show their rough position. Add toes and sketch the final shape of the foot.
- 9). Pencil in a horizontal line at the center for the head as a guide for the position of the eyes. Draw in eyes, a nose and the mouth. Look at yourself in the mirror to draw inspiration for more facial detail.
