How to Make a Compost Pile In Your Yard

    • 1). Find a place in your yard that is sort of out of eyes sight but still in some sun. I find that full sun all day is not good.

    • 2). Dig a hole that will be large enough for your scraps and deep enough that you can cover it.

    • 3). Throw your scraps in the hole that you just dug.

    • 4). Cover the scraps with the dirt. Make sure the scraps are well covered. You would not want any critters around.

    • 5). Add grass clippings or leaves any kind of vegetation.

    • 6). Every few weeks or so go and move the pile around so it gets some air. You can also add more scraps at that time.

    • 7). You know when you have a good compost pile when you start to have plenty of worms. Since worms are eating the rotting scraps.
