How to Take Good Care of Your Cat and Help Them Live a Long Life

Most people love their cat as if it was their own flesh and blood (well maybe this is going a bit over board, but you get the point).
I myself am a big cat lover, so I can understand how much people tend to love their pet cats.
I can't imagine not doing all that I possibly could in order to keep my cat happy and healthy.
A few years back it seemed like people would just let their cats come and go, and that the only responsibility required to maintain your cat was simply to feed and water them.
But unfortunately cats (and all pets in general) are a bit more complicated than plants and gardens.
Anyways, there are many things that you can do to ensure that you cat lives a long, healthy, and fulfilling life, but we will stick to the most important basics.
Luckily it really isn't very hard to take good care of your pet cat, so don't get to worried about it.
Just follow the basic guidelines that we go over here and you (and your cat) will be just fine.
Probably the #1 most important factor to having a healthy cat that lives for years to come, is to make them an INDOOR cat.
This may not seem like much, but you would be amazing at how prone cats are to getting sicknesses and diseases.
By keeping them inside you just about eliminate that possibility.
Also, indoor cats will never have to worry about defending their territory (since cats are very territorial animals).
This is especially important for males, who tend to roam around more, and worse yet, fight over females.
Also, considering how many cats that you find dead in the road, just think how much safer your cat would be if kept in doors.
Another good thing to think about is getting your cat fixed, since this will keep them from spraying, and will even decrease their desire to go out doors.
Obviously it would be far easier to keep a cat in doors if it never sprays, and doesn't frantically claw at your door trying to get out every day.
While there are many factors to maintaining a healthy cat for years to come, what we just went over has been proven to be the most important things that you can do.
If you want a cat that may just like to be 20 years old or more, then you will definitely want to make them a house cat rather than an out doors cat.
