A best man's role is a stellar one. Knowing that you were called by your buddy or your brother to be his best man means he trusts that you can surmount this stellar role.
Throwing a bachelor party is one of the things that makes your role stellar but only if you get it right. Luckily, all you need is the boat loan application you just nailed to get the party started. Of course, your vessel is the perfect venue for this manly event!
At this point, give yourself a pat on the back. Now proceed to read the things you have to do next.
Build a guest list
Make this phase easier on you by consulting the groom about the people he'd want to have in the party. He may want it to just be the closest friends and family. Be mindful about not going beyond your vessel's capacity. Your boat finance coverage may include insurance but negligence disqualifies you from the insurance's benefits.
Make-it stripper free
An old sailor's myth says that bringing a woman aboard is bad omen. For bachelor party on sail with a stripper, this myth can be true. You don't need a scantily clad woman to be the manliest man you can be, right? Spare the stripper's fees for the party's supplies or spare it to pay for the month's boat financing repayment.
Plan a sail route
The great thing about having your own vessel for the party rather than just renting a vessel is that you have all the freedom to go random on your sail party's route. For that, great job on getting approved by your boat loan lender. You can start the party on sail and then let the anchor down in the open waters for the night. You can also dock to a nearby or far off island for a shore camping.
You can hold the "party's ceremony" in a camp fire with beer.
Get a manly menu
Let the first dinner be a special one so be sure to prepare the manliest food for the guest and the groom. It does not have to be a cuisine dish. It just had to be tasty, manly and very filling. Spicy buffalo wings with deep fried potato wedges or mojos are a manly favorite so don't miss this on the menu. If you can, go serve a dish of roast red meat too. Beer is a given so don't forget a cooler. Serve scotch or whiskey too.
Pack your supplies
Do this early, say, a couple of days before you and the guys go aboard. Check and complete your emergency kit, be sure there is enough life vests for every guest and don't forget to have extra fuel along.
Share the yacht with the men and make your buddy's passing to "husbandhood" the most fun and unforgettable in his life. Good luck!
