There are way too many diets out there that advocate caloric restriction or low fat consumption that they're really setting people up for failure.
The main reason why bad carbohydrates are going to cause people to gain fat is because they'll set off a domino effect of hormonal releases in the body that cause it to store fat rather than burn it off.
It's not necessarily the amount of calories you're eating that cause you to get fat but rather the kinds of calories you're eating that cause you to gain fat.
The main reason the bad carbohydrates to this is because they spike our blood sugar levels.
When our blood sugar levels spike it causes insulin to be released which signals the body to store fat rather than burn it.
Some of these bad carbohydrates include pizza, pasta, white rice, bread, spaghetti, cereal, tortillas and even hamburger buns.
The reason they cause our blood sugar levels to spike is because they're very starchy carbohydrates and the sugar content in them is difficult for our bodies to naturally digest.
But this doesn't mean you should eliminate all of your carbohydrate intake just like the Atkins Diet recommends.
There are plenty of healthy carbohydrates sources such as vegetables, fruits and well cooked beans.
The problem with most peoples diets is they're eating too much of the processed carbohydrates that are going to cause them to put on fat.
The ultimate goal to lose belly fat is to keep your insulin levels low and to do that you're going to have to have stable blood sugar levels throughout the day.
The best method to regulate your blood sugar levels is going to be to not consume the foods that will make them spike and eat smaller meals throughout the day.
It's going to be hard for some people to avoid these foods because they have become such mainstays in the modern American diet.
Not to mention they're also very inexpensive for the average consumer.
Families are going to have to cook more themselves in order to save money by eliminating these unhealthy carbohydrates.
But if people truly want to lose fat and live healthier lifestyles then it's going to be very important for them to eliminate the foods that are causing them to get fat and not just cut back on calories.
