The Importance Of The Proper Functioning Of Manufacturers Motorcycle Fork

Motorcycle maniacs know the immense importance of a motorcycle fork. After all, it is the part that ‘holds' together a motorcycle! Those who are not familiar with the technical terms of a motorbike should know that a motorcycle fork, better known as simply fork, is that part of the bike that connects the front wheel to its axle.  Not just that, it also oils the shocks, as it is the part that holds oil.

Different types of forks are manufactured for different types of bikes. It is very necessary to change front fork regularly as old or defective front forks can lead to oil leakage. Renknowned fork manufacturers like Endurance manufacture metal insert oil fork seal that also have dust seal to prevent oil leakages.

Types of Forks:

Girder fork was the first fork type to be manufactured. The biggest disadvantage of this early fork version was that the wheelbase changed continually as it had movement limitation. Today's  telescopic forks are the improved versions of the girder forks. Almost every fork version has some advantages and disadvantages, as the fork type that is suitable for one type of motorbike will not necessisarly suit its advanced version. That is the reason why  front fork manufacturers and motorbike enthusiasts keep modifying the older versions of forks every now and then.

How can one speak about the most essential part of a motorcylce and not mention the most popular type of a bike, the dirt bike! The most common type of fork preffered by dirt bike riders is the cartridge fork. There  are two types of cartridge forks, the open cartridge and closed cartridge. The closed cartridge is best suited for harsh riding conditions, like that in a mountain motorcross. In short,  close cartridge fork works best for a professional rider.

Some Mishaps that occurred due to Ill-maintainence and manufacturing

There have been quite a number of unfortunate incidents that happened due to either wrong manufacturing or ill-maintainence of front forks. One of such incidents was when oil leaked like water from fork seals. This happened because the rider ignored the first signs of oil leakage. Forks that are specially designed for dirt bikes can sustain the jolts easily, but in one particular dirt bike race, fork of a particular dirt bike went completely rigid on every slight bump. One over-enthusiastic front fork manufacturer, made extra sturdy forks that made it almost impossible to turn the bike without falling off. Another noted incident happened in the early seventies. A combination of poor quality forks, shocks and overall structure resulted in the most uncomfortable bike till date!

The above given are only some examples, many such incidents happen everyday due to cheap quality forks. Such incidents can be avoided by changing the fork seal from time to time. It is also necessasary to buy it from reliable front fork manufacturers like Endurance only. Endurance designs forks for motorcycles ranging from 100 cc to 350 cc motorcyles. It also manufactures inverted front forks,  leg assembly LH, leg assembly RH and front fork especially for export. The company designs, manufactures and assembles all its products under one roof, so all one needs is to buy them!
