- 1). Apply a heavy-duty detergent or fabric stain remover to the oil-stained areas of the fabric.
- 2). Wash the fabric using the hottest water possible. Refer to the fabric's care tag in order to find out the highest water temperature safe for your fabric.
- 3). Allow the fabric to air dry. Dryer heat will set the oil into the fabric, which can make it difficult to remove.
- 4). Check the fabric for oil stains once it is dry. If any remain, repeat the procedure.
