- 1). Connect your iPod to your computer with the dock connector to USB cable that came with the iPOd.
- 2). Open iTunes on your computer.
- 3). Locate and click on the iPod icon in the device list--on the left-hand side of iTunes. The device list is located below the icon for your iTunes library and the icon will appear when your computer begins reading your iPod.
- 4). Click the box to the left of the "Manually manage music and videos" option--selecting this option stops your iPod from syncing automatically when it's connected to a computer and allows you to specify what songs are on your iPod.
- 5). Click the "Apply" button to finish setting your iPod up so you can manually add music to it.
- 1). Connect your iPod to the second computer with the supplied USB to dock connector cable.
- 2). Open iTunes on the second computer.
- 3). Click on the "Music" tab below the "Library" tab on the left-hand side of iTunes--this will bring up all of the music in the iTunes library on the other computer.
- 4). Click on the song you want to add to your iPod so that it appears highlighted in the main window of iTunes.
- 5). Drag the highlighted song to the iPod icon in the "Device" list and release the mouse when the icon becomes highlighted. The device list is located below the iTunes library and the iPod icon will appear when the second computer begins reading your iPod.
