Does Green Tea Benefit the Skin?

It has been hailed as the best drink next to water.
Consuming up to three cups a day is also said to offer anti-cancer benefits, fight infection, ensure healing, lower cholesterol and prolong life.
Drinking green tea on a daily basis is said to be an excellent way to healthy skin and is good for all skin types.
It works wonders on damaged, mature and acne prone skin.
As we have seen, aging makes the skin less elastic and firm.
This happens due to the damage caused to the proteins of the skin by the free radicals and unstable molecules.
This leads to the division of cells and death of skin cells, causing them to build up and show up as wrinkles.
Green tea slows down the oxidation caused by these free radicals and controls cell division, making the skin look smooth and healthy.
"Collagen" the magic word for skin, is also promoted with green tea, bringing back the lost elasticity and firmness to the skin.
Green tea contains tannins, which are bitter astringent compounds that have the capacity to contract skin tissues.
They tighten the pores leaving the skin looking smooth.
Smaller pores ensure that bacteria do not enter the pores, thus inhibiting all sorts of bacterial infections.
Other more serious and unpleasant skin conditions like psoriasis, dandruff and rosacea are also highly benefited with the use of green tea.
Since it promotes cell rejuvenation, many say that it also prevents scar tissue formation.
This wonder liquid can also be sprayed over the face a number of times during the day, to keep it fresh and smooth, and also makes a great toner for the face.
Here is an anti-aging toner recipe you can use: Pure spring water or distilled water 1/2 cup Green tea leaves 2 tsp or 1 tea bag (make sure it is not decaffeinated) Boil the water.
Place the green tea leaves/bag in a bowl.
Pour the water over them and steep for 2-3 minutes.
Strain the decoction into a bottle and allow it to cool.
Keep it refrigerated.
Apply it daily with a cotton ball and leave it on without rinsing.
Apply the moisturizer over it.
This is without doubt one of the best antioxidants found.
Apart from consuming it naturally by drinking it, there are also many skin-care products that contain this special ingredient.
When buying a green tea product, it is preferable to get a tube.
This is because antioxidants degrade when they come into contact with light.
In a tube, there is less chances of this happening.
There are several creams that are packaged perfectly to ensure no air enters.
Now that you know the benefits of green tea, the first thing to do is start consumption on a daily basis and you will notice a dramatic difference in just a few weeks.
