Is Fasting Good for Master Cleanse Detox?

The master detox fasting was created as a detoxification program to cleanse the body of toxins and unhealthy chemicals. The diet's effectiveness is based on the lemonade mix that primarily contains lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Solid foods are prohibited in the Master Cleanse. In recent times, the diet has been made popular because of its weight loss properties. The weight loss is a byproduct of the fasting done during the Master Cleanse Diet. So is fasting good for the Master Cleanse Detox?

Fasting is a period of self-discipline from all food and specific food items. Specific solutions are consumed in enough quantity to satisfy thirst and hunger and other physiological requirements. Throughout the absence of solid food, the body will systematically clean itself of toxins. Starvation is very unlikely and can only occur when the body is forced to use vital tissue as an energy source to survive. Although protein is provided for the body during the fast, a person fasting for up to 30 days on water will not suffer a deficiency of protein, vitamins, minerals or fatty acids.

Here are just a few benefits of fasting in the master detox fasting:
  • Mental clarity: You feel more focused and can concentrate better
  • Rapid and safe weight loss
  • Balanced nervous system
  • Energy level increased; the longer the fast, the bigger increase in energy and vitality
  • Sensory perception is increased
  • Less sleep is needed
  • Organs are revitalized; this includes the liver, lungs, digestive organs and heart
  • Cellular biochemistry is harmonized
  • Silky, soft and sensitive skin
  • The digestive system is rejuvenated and becomes much more effective: fasting retrains your tasting sense back to more healthy food, as acute sensitivity is restored
  • Normal metabolic and cell oxygenation is restored

While the Master Cleanse Diet is a fasting diet, it still provides all of the essential nutrients you need to stay healthy and energized. It is, however, not designed to be a long-term diet and should never be used as such. The diet can be repeated periodically, with periods of normal eating in between. People who have performed this cleanse have reported large amounts of weight loss, up to 20 pounds or more in a ten-day period. The weight sometimes falls off so quickly that it's even a little intimidating and causes some people to stop part way through the cleanse.
