- 1). Follow the leader. Being popular often means mimicking those who are already popular. You don’t have to change who you are exactly, but sometimes it may be necessary to pay attention to what other popular people are doing in order to give you some clues to how you should act in order to be popular. Take a couple or actions from popular people you like a put your own spin on what they do to make it original.
- 2). Dress to impress. The majority of popular people know how to dress well. Find out the hot new styles and choose what is right for you. Take extra time on personal hygiene in order to look your best on a day to day basis. This will eventually start to turn some heads in your direction, thus achieving another level of popularity.
- 3). Be confident. People follow confidence, and the majorities of popular people are confident or at least pretend to be. Walk, talk, and act with confidence and people will begin to treat with more respect. After you gain the respect of a few people, word of mouth will begin to spread popularity for you.
- 4). Meet and greet. Take the time to speak to everyone you can everyday in the places you frequent. You don’t have to have a full conversation with everyone, but simply saying hello will suffice. People often remember others who take the time to simply say hello when unsolicited. This too will eventually have a domino effect, as people will begin to remember your face and courtesy.
- 5). Think bigger. Get involved in group functions and try to involve others as well. The more involved and outgoing you become and are, the more likely people will remember who you are. Getting involved in organizations and functions that you enjoy will be an added bonus, as well as giving you things to talk about to others about yourself.
