Are you finding it a bit hard to level your leatherworking? Perhaps thinking of throwing in the towel and picking up an "easier" profession? Well, don't! Leatherworking can be an extremely rewarding profession if you do it right, and I'm going to share a few little secrets with you that will really help you out.
I think you'll find it's nowhere near as hard as you thought it would be! The first thing you absolutely must do is get skinning as a second profession.
Skinning can be very lucrative on its own, and combined with leatherworking it can be even more so.
Just go to any Horde/Alliance starting area and away you go, it will take you no time at all to collect all the leather you need.
If you don't do this, you'll have to buy all your materials from the auction house, and that's expensive on any server.
Do it the smart way and you won't be sorry you did.
Leatherworking is an awesome profession because it outfits so many different classes.
Druids, rogues, paladins, shamans...
almost any class can wear leather! And this is great news for you, because it means your services will be in high demand! Try offering your services around in trade chat - people will come to respect you and hold you in high regard if you charge a fair price for your time, and you'll get to level at the same time! You can even try offering a small monetary reward if you level from something you craft them.
Another fantastic thing about leatherworking is the legguards you can make.
These are akin to the spellthread a tailor can make, and are kind of like enchants you can put on your legs.
People will pay a lot of money for these, especially the high level ones, so you should concentrate on making these wherever possible.
If you keep a steady supply of them on the auction house, you'll be able to make quite a bit of money off those alone.
As with most crafting professions, the real money lies with endgame recipes.
If you're an 80 raider, you should be trying to get your hands on these wherever possible.
If you get an addon called Atlas Loot, this will list all the places where these leatherworking recipes drop, so you can do your best to get them.
Competition is stiff though, so good luck! Don't worry if it takes a little while to get them - you'll be making plenty of gold from selling spare leather and gear on the auction house!
