- 1). Open AutoCAD Civil 3D. Select "Open" from the "File" menu, select your file and click the "Open" button. Pan and zoom with your mouse to the location where points will be edited.
- 2). Select the "COGO Point" tab. "COGO" stands for "Coordinate Geometry-Oriented," and is a standard method for describing a set of points in surveying and civil engineering.
- 3). Click the "Points" menu and select "Edit Points." Select the method for editing the points; you can work with individual points with "Points," work with a collection of points with "Point Groups," adjust points from a plane with "Datum," move points relative to a surface with "Elevations from Surface" or change point labeling with "Renumber." Select the points with your mouse and edit the points with the "Move" tool.
