      An associate's degree generally takes two years of full-time study to complete. There are currently only two associate-level programs in the United States dedicated solely to homeland security management. One is at Anne Arundel Community College. This school is located in Arnold, Maryland, and offers a Homeland Security Management Associate of Applied Science Degree. The other is at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. These programs can prepare you for further education in the industry, or for a direct-entry career in homeland security management.

      A bachelor's degree in homeland security management prepares students for careers within local and national government safety and response agencies, such as FEMA and the National Guard. American Military University in Charlestown, West Virginia, offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Homeland Security. Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pennsylvania, National University in La Jolla, California, and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, all offer Bachelor of Science Degrees in Homeland Security Management.
