Central to Leominster is the magnificent Priory, one of the oldest in Britain dated back to 660AD.
Going back to Saxon times Leominster was a wool town and many of the medieval features and buildings remain today.
With its narrowing streets and abundance of black and white timber framed buildings now housing an array of shops it is well worth a visit.
Steeped in history, you can see the last ducking stool to be used in England in 1809 in the Priory church and the town was given its name by Earl Leofric husband of Lady Godiva.
For shopping there is an interesting and unusual selection of shops, antique markets, with plenty of cafes/restaurants providing local food for that well earned rest.
Leominster now has an antique shop trail and internet cafes so you can keep in touch.
The market square is the focal point for the weekly Friday market, and host to the Farmers, French and New for 2009 antique market.
Visit and enjoy one of the numerous events held throughout the year which include Coracle racing in June, Food and Flower festivals, Apple Fair, and the reenactment of the battle of Mortimers Cross to name a few.
Leominster and the surrounding villages provide an ideal base for visiting the many attractions in the Herefordshire/Welsh Border regions, offering a wide and varied choice to suit all holiday tastes.
Whether it be famous cider houses, open gardens, local produce markets, the famous Black and White Trail, or Sporting Experiences.
How about painting courses, cookery courses, craft making or simply relaxing in the stunning countryside we have it all.
