The travel and tourism industry is one of the biggest industries in India.
It makes the 11% of the total GDP of the world and also makes the 8% of the employed population of the world.
The tourism industry has emerged as the biggest source of the income.
The tourism in India is having many percepts like the Rural tourism, heritage tourism, wildlife tourism, etc.
Tourism in India is the major source for generating the employment and promoting the livelihood in the country.
The Incredible India campaign has attracted the tourists from foreign countries.
The ministry of tourism has promoted the 'Explore Rural India' which has been designed to attract the tourists from the foreign countries.
Ministry has spotted out 130 sites to be developed as the tourists destinations.
The sites of the rural India is incredible which is unexplored and is also beautiful.
The rural tourism in India also experiences the skills and arts along with the cultural and the natural heritage of the country.
There are different types of occupation that is practiced in the Indian villages and it reflects the socio-economic culture of the country.
The villagers of India are involved in certain occupations like fishing, farming, cottage industry, pottery, business, various small, medium and large scale industry, carpentry etc.
However, we can say that Agriculture is the principle occupation for the villagers in India.
In most of the parts of India the agricultural activities are the leading producers of agricultural products.
The other occupation of the Indian village is the priests, carpenters, barbers, weavers, potters, sweepers etc.
There are many such festivals of Indian villages that attracts the tourists from all over the country as well as from all over the world.
The festivals in the East India like Durga Puja, Kali Puja, Rath Yatra and the region specific festivals like Jatra Festivals, Jhoolan, Poush Mela and Vasanta Utsav.
The lifestyle of the Indian village includes the education and the occupation and lifestyle of the villagers.
If there is Industrialization in India still the majority of the people depends on agriculture.
The people of India is also engaged in the various arts, culture and handicrafts and the tourism in the country is also the major occupation of the country.
