I have learned that the g20 driver is great. I just start golfing for no more than one year. This driver suit for me very well. I tried Titleist 913 D2 Driver as well, but i find the g20 driver is better for me. It is more forgiving and i can hit longer distance with the g20.
The first thing I noticed was that it set dead square, the dark grey head color really appealed to me and the crescent moon alignment aid was a nice change from the full moon on many previous Ping drivers. The G20's large, variable-thickness face generates faster ball speeds and increases MOI for maximum forgiveness. PING has a staunch following that borders on fanaticism yet they always offer clubs that may look 'plain' or 'boring' but lately their designs are slowly emerging from those shells while still maintaining their core values. This driver is a cannon right off the shelf. It is a mid-launch shaft with mid/low spin. The feel is crisp and smooth.
nytime I'm in the market for a new club, Ping is one of the first companies I look at because I know their products rarely disappoint. For all ability levels, the external weighting of the large, forgiving ping G20 driver helps launch the ball high with low spin for maximum distance and accuracy. The size and shape of the longer head look much better than the G15 and the sound and feel at impact were excellent and the ball took off on a slightly higher but more penetrating trajectory than the G15. The feel of the clubhead was softer than my Cleveland HiBore and Ping G15, trajectory was easily controlled, and the most satisfying result of this club was the accuracy.
The G20 driver has a heavier head than ping g15 driver (7 grams more than standard) for greater force at impact. The one thing I had to adjust to was the fact the ball didn't curve much at all. I am used to aiming at the right side of the fairway and drawing the ball back to the middle. The bottom of the G20, however, has a littie bit too much of a spaceship look too it. I'll touch on the shaft a little later but in terms of looks it's very similar to what was offered last year in the G15 and the K15 and meshes well with the overall look of the G20.
Overall, the g20 driver is really worth your money. Bubba watson also used ping's g20 driver. But his driver is special. It is pink. If you are looking for no frills length with great sound and accuracy, check out the Ping G20 driver.
