- 1). Separate recyclable colored paper from any plain white paper and nonrecyclable colored paper. Colored paper that can be recycled includes anything with a logo/printed design, junk mail, Post-It notes, yellow ledger paper, regular manila folders, light and pastel-colored paper and envelopes without windows.
- 2). Collect the recyclable colored paper in clear plastic bags so the collectors can see that the contents are all in the same class of recyclable materials.
- 3). Select the most convenient method of recycling for your lifestyle. Many people prefer to take their recycling in bulk to communal drop-off points that can be found outside of grocery stores, or receptacles that are placed in community parking lots. Recyclable paper can also be dropped off directly at a local recycling center in your area. If you live in a residential area, another alternative is to request a recycling bin from your city to participate in weekly curb-side pick-up.
