- 1). Close all McAfee-related programs prior to uninstalling Host Intrusion Prevention. Right-click the McAfee icon in the bottom-right portion of the computer's taskbar. Select "Exit" to close the application.
- 2). Initialize the McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention setup wizard. Click on the "Start" menu at the bottom-left portion of the desktop. Select "All Programs" from the "Start" menu and locate the McAfee folder. Select it, and click on the icon titled "McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention for server."
- 3). Uninstall the application from your computer. In the McAfee setup window, click "Modify, Repair or Remove" and click "Next." Select the "Remove" option in the open dialogue box and click on "Next." The next prompt will list "McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention" as the selected program to be uninstalled. Click "Next" again to progress the uninstallation wizard.
- 4). Confirm and finish uninstallation. In the confirmation window, select "Remove" to finalize the software's removal. Wait several minutes for the program files and registry keys to be removed from the computer. Upon completion, the wizard will notify you that McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention has been removed. Exit out of any remaining windows, and restart the computer.
