- 1). Check the back of the PS2 gaming console to make sure that the power cord is plugged into the AC outlet on the back of the unit. This is found on the lower left hand side of the console's back. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet in your home.
- 2). Connect the microphone that came with your "Singstar Pop" game to the controller port on the front of the PS2 console. Push the end of the microphone into the port until you hear it click into place.
- 3). Inspect the "Singstar Pop" game for scratches or cracks. If the game is damaged, the PS2 console won't read it properly. Use a disc cleaning solution and a rag according to the manufacturer's instructions to clean the disc if it's scratched. If the game is cracked, you need to replace it.
- 4). Open the PS2 console lid and use a can of compressed air to blow away any dust or dirt that's inside the console. Dust and dirt can get on the console's lens, leaving it unable to read the disc.
- 5). Press the power button on the back of the console and leave the system off for about 30 seconds. Press the power button again to restart the system.
