Okay so, we've all been told that global warming (mankind's emissions of greenhouse gases, namely CO2) are causing the Earth's atmosphere to heat up.
It has been and indeed still is argued by many that the Earth's atmospheric temperatures are not heating up much, thus, merely within a range or normal climate cycle - warming periods versus ice ages.
Ice ages being bad for organic life on the surface of the planet and warming periods being robust periods for life.
Last week, I was discussing this with a climate expert, someone who has studied global warming for nearly 3-decades, and he was explaining that "The sun's irradiance is trap, causing the surface temperature to rise, just like in an actual green house.
" I gave a little chuckle and stated; Good, so how do we teraform mars to create the right sort of atmosphere? Without missing a beat he went on to say that "The transparent walls of a green house allows the irradiance from the sun to enter into the green house, and trap the heat.
The results are a temperature rise within the green house.
" Interestingly enough, I did take a tour of Columbia University's Biosphere II project just outside of Tucson, which had been funded partly by the Hunt Brothers, eventually the funded ended and the energy costs went up, but they had a runaway greenhouse affect inside, which caused the CO2 levels to sky rocket.
Still, there are many reasons that temperatures heat up in a biosphere, whether artificial like the one in Tucson, AZ or the Earth's biosphere itself.
Ambient temperature increases can also come from the result of increased solar radiation, solar maximum cycle, and the recent lowered temps from solar minimum.
Indeed, all the global warming alarmists could be purposely miss-reading data or just ignorant academic scientists playing for more research dollars.
Either way the entire premise of mankind's CO2 causing Global Warming in my opinion is bull.
The ocean could heat up from underwater volcanic activity too, lots of things can cause the planet's atmosphere to heat up, that is "if" it is, and even "if" it were, so what? My acquaintance noted that; "In winter the greenhouse gas theory makes no sense, because there's not suppose to be enough irradiance from the sun for any green house gases to trap in winter.
" Thus, he asks, where is the heat coming from? Okay so, I ask; what heat? Global warming alarmists say that the planet is heating up, but, their data is flawed, so no one is buying it anymore.
But if it is heating up, why is it heating up? Solar flares, underground volcanoes, space weather, gamma bursts, solar maximum solar flares, what? Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this.
