- Southwest Airlines sends out exclusive deals and keeps customers abreast of their latest offers via email alerts. Sign up for free "Click 'n 'Save" email alerts on Southwest Airline's website to receive weekly offers. Alerts come to subscribers each Tuesday, and sometimes over the weekend. Emails can also include news about travel bundles and vacation planning tools.
- Enroll in Southwest Airline's Rapid Rewards program to receive points towards free flights. Rapid Reward points are awarded for flights. The amount of points will vary depending on the cost of each flight. Members can also earn Rapid Reward points by using a Rapid Rewards credit card, participating in Rapid Rewards Dining, or shopping with Southwest's retail, hotel and rental car partners. Rapid Rewards members will also receive exclusive email offers.
- Southwest Airline's DING! application is available as a desktop application or for the iPhone. The DING! program will monitor up to ten selected airports and notify users of new, exclusive, short-term offers on travel. Notifications will include some offer details and give users an opportunity to book the offer, redirecting them to a Southwest Airline website page exclusively for the DING! offer.
- Traveling with flexible dates is a great way to save money on airfare with Southwest Airlines. While booking a trip at Southwest.com, select the "Low Fare Calendar" then choose travel dates. The calendar will display surrounding days and the lowest available fares for travelers. Booking trips at least two weeks in advance will also reflect lower travel rates. Be flexible for the best fares.
- The Group Travel Program provides reduced rate travel and benefits for groups of ten or more. Group reservations do not require upfront payments, although a 10 percent deposit may be required to hold the reservation. Names on individual tickets can be changed up to 72 hours before the flight departs at no additional cost, and groups also earn one free ticket (minus fees) after 40 are purchased.
