- 1). Decide in which room or rooms in your home you want to use underfloor heating. Two common rooms for underfloor heat are the kitchen and bathroom.
- 2). Measure the dimensions of the room with a tape measure. Find the width and length and write down the measurements.
- 3). Reduce the size of the room to the area which is used the most. Underfloor heating systems should cover about 65 to 80 percent of the room.
- 4). Determine where the thermostat will be located on the wall. A wall that has an unused electrical outlet will provide the wiring needed for the thermostat.
