Anxiety and dizziness always come hand in hand. If you ever felt lightheaded, a little bit dizzy or woozy just before that important moment where you had to stand up and begin talking to a whole bunch of people - you know what I'm talking about. Some people even faint in those situations. Without any real reason you begin imagining horrible things happening to you and thinking that it's all over.
The truth of the matter is that it's pretty simple to control dizziness if you follow the advice laid out in this article.
Just as people would describe different events in their lives differently, so do people describe dizziness differently. The reason I mention this notion is that you should understand that no matter what "dizzy" feels to you, it's probably got some components of the following: feeling that the whole world is spinning, you are losing balance and you want to sit down or grab a hold of something. One little trick you can do right there and then is what ballet dancers do when they spin around like mad: they keep their eyes open and focus on something that's 10 feet in front of them about 20 degrees up from the horizone.
You don't really have to have the so called "anxiety" to feel dizzy. You could get dizzy just by standing up as fast as you can. Or shaking head. It's called head rush. The reason that happens is you lose blood pressure and that causes you to feel dizzy.
If you are starting to feel dizzy you should pause momentarily and think why is that happening to you. It could be because you are in a situation that you don't know anything about, or any other myriad of things. Don't let your anxiety get out of hand.
If you start feeling dizzy repeatedly for no apparent reason at all, you should immediately go see your doctor. Compared to many other illnesses (such as diabetes) anxiety is child's play and should not be treated lightly. It could be a sign that there is something wrong with your diet and that you are endangering your life by continuing it. Consulting with a doc will help you understand and pinpoint the true reasons why things are happening to you.
If you talk to your doctor and he confirms that your dizziness is caused by anxiety, you can begin trying out different techniques for getting rid of it. But before trying any of these, be prepared that different exercises and techniques were created for different people and that you might have to go through a whole bunch of them to find one that is the magic pill for you. So, make a journal of things you try. This will greatly improve your odds of finding that one thing which will remove any kind of anxiety dizziness you might encounter.
First thing to try and incorporate into your daily life is⦠improving your diet. Diet is at root of so many things, and if you could eliminate all junk food, minimize the amount of breads and cookies you eat, you'd do wonders for your health (including mental health).
And the second technique I'm going to tell you is - whenever you are starting to feel dizzy, start breathing deep from the belly (not from chest, but deep down from near the navel). Start counting breaths and do them slowly.
