How to Effectively Use Twitter Search

Twitter continues to be among the top social networking platforms used by private individuals, business owners and companies.
As of 1st January 2014, the number of members has reached more than 645 million with 135,000 people signing up and 58 million tweets being sent every day.
Active internet users normally hang out on this site to get or share the latest news from across the globe and to update themselves about what's happening with the people they follow.
Twitter also serves as a useful guide where people can do their research on various topics.
Not many know that the search functionality of this top social media site can be used in different ways.
It should be noted, however, that Twitter filters the search results to ensure that users are only provided with quality Tweets and accounts based on what they're looking for.
Search for Topics When searching for topics, it's best to use a hashtag before the word.
If you're using several words, make sure to type them without space and use a hashtag before it.
In case you see a hashtagged word in a tweet that interests you, you can also click on that and it will give you results in a new page.
The results page will normally show the top results but you can still browse through all the results.
Search for Photos Using your topic, you can also search for photos only if you want.
On the results page, you will see a photos category on the left column below results and people.
Click the arrow on the right of the word photos to show the images related to your specific topic.
Saving a Search Twitter also allows users to save their searches just in case you want to go back to them at a later time.
To save a particular search, simply click the small down arrow on the right of the wheel icon at the top right of the search results page.
Then click the Save search option.
If you'd like yourself, your business and your tweets to be easily searched on Twitter, there are certain rules to follow.
Avoid posting duplicate content, abusing hashtags or trending topics, sending automated tweets or replies, using apps to post similar messages and posting similar messages over various accounts.
It is also a no-no to follow and un-follow people on the site in an aggressive manner.
