Arden-Arcade Community Overview:

Arden-Arcade is located about east of downtown Sacramento and the northern portion of Sacramento County.

The Arden-Arcade area is a part of the Haggin Grant of 1910. This grant was an old Mexican Land Grant, which covered 44,000 acers, given to John Sutter

During the 1940s, this area began to develop. Starting with the first suburban shopping center in Northern California – Town and Country Village shopping center.

This mall, which still stands and operates today, is located along Marconi and Fulton avenues.

Later in the 1960s and into the 1970s, urban develop grew along with the area’s population.

Arden-Arcade Community Location:

Natomas is just east from downtown Sacramento to the south and from the Sacramento International Aiport to the north.

The neighborhood boundaries are as follows:
  • North: Auburn Boulevard and Winding Way
  • South: American River and Sacramento City limits
  • East: Walnut Avenue (southeast extension of Arden Way)
  • West: Sacramento City Limits
  • Arden-Arcade Neighborhoods:

    The neighborhoods in Arden-Arcade include Arcade Village, Arden Gardens, Arden Manor, Arden Oaks, Arden Park, Arden Terrace, Bellview, Bohemian Heights, Byerford Heights, Camino Cottage Park, Del Dayo Estates, Del Paso Manor, Dunmovin, Encina, Fulton-El Camino, Garden of the Gods, Hazelwood, Marconi North, Marconi South, Mariemont/Gordon Heights, Mira Loma, Mission Oaks, Mission Oaks North, Mission/Marconi, North Edison, Northrup/Ethan, Selby Ranch, Sierra Oaks, Sierra Oaks Vista, Wilhaggin, Wilhaggin Estates, Woodside and Wyndgate.

    Arden-Arcade Living:

    As one of the more developed areas in Sacramento County, the Arden-Arcade offers the homeowner or renter many options; from ranch-style homes and 1950s bungalows to multi-million dollar gated estates, and from townhomes to large apartment communities.

    Arden-Arcade residents who love the outdoors have access to American River Parkway which includes a 26-mile hike and bike trail that stretches to Folsom Lake.

    Governing Arden-Arcade:

    The Arden community is represented by the District 3 representative on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.

    Educating Arden-Arcade:

    The San Juan Unified School District administers K-12 education to the Arden-Arcade community.

    There are several private schools in the area including Loretto High School and St. Francis High School.
