- 1). Insert the device cable into the iPod, and plug the other end into your computer's USB port. Click the "Start" button at the bottom of your desktop screen, and click "All Programs" and "iTunes" to run the program.
- 2). Click the iPod icon in the iTunes' source pane, also known as the sidebar, and click the "Enable Disk Use" checkbox. Click the "OK" button on the iTunes' warning message, and click the Apply button in the iTunes window to set your iPod to manual mode.
- 3). Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop, and double-click the Removable Drive icon. Locate the music you want to transfer, and drag it to the Removable Drive window.
- 4). Click the Eject button in the iTunes window, and remove the iPod cable from your computer's USB port. Plug the USB cable into the secondary computer's USB port.
- 5). Double-click the "My Computer" icon on the secondary computer's desktop, and double-click the Removable Drive icon. Drag and drop the music from the Removable Drive window to the desktop, or to the Music folder on the secondary computer.
- 6). Click the "Back" button in the Removable Drive window, and right-click the Removable Drive icon in the My Computer window. Choose "Eject" on the shortcut menu to remove the iPod, and unplug the iPod cable from the computer.

- 2). Click the iPod icon in the iTunes' source pane, also known as the sidebar, and click the "Enable Disk Use" checkbox in the Summary section, Hart-Davis recommends. Alternatively, click the "Settings" tab if you're using an iPod Shuffle to access the manual manager settings.
- 3). Click the Apply button to save the iPod settings, and click the "Finder" icon on the Dock. Locate the music you want to transfer, and drag and drop it to the iPod icon on the desktop screen.
- 4). Drag the iPod drive's icon to the Trash icon on your desktop's dock to eject the iPod. Unplug the iPod cable from the Mac's USB port, and plug the cable into the secondary computer's USB port.
- 5). Double-click the iPod icon on the desktop, and drag and drop the music to the desktop or to a folder. Drag the iPod drive's icon to the trash icon on your desktop's Dock to disconnect the iPod from your Macintosh computer. Unplug the iPod cable from the USB port.
