I know some of you are skeptical and think what can a dog really teach us, I mean after all it's just an animal.
But if you looked a little closer and paid a bit more attention you will see that dogs are happy physically and mentally at least a lot more than humans are.
In fact, if you let him, your dog can teach you a thing or two about how to handle life..
* Unconditional Love.
Your dog loves you, no ands or ifs about it.
When loved ones come home, they greet you with all their vigor, they don't hold anything back.
Whether your fat, skinny, black, white, tall, short, smart, dumb, movie star or just ordinary person, he will love you whole heartily.
He won't discriminate or hold expectations on what you should do for him.
When the world seems to be at hard on you, he'll come to you silently, sit close by and nuzzle your pain gently away.
Just imagine how great the world could be if we could love each other they way our dogs love us unconditionally.
* Loyalty.
It's pretty common knowledge that dogs are incredibly loyal to their owners.
The story of Hachiko- he was an Akita dog born in Japan, who was remembered for his loyalty to his owner, even many years after his owner's death.
If humans could be as loyal as dogs are, then their would be less marital problems and more trusting friendships.
* Adaptation.
When's the last time you've seen a dog complain.
I mean does he cry, whine and pout when he doesn't get his way.
When you change his dog food, he doesn't spit it out and refuse to eat because he wants KEG quality food.
When he's kicked off the nice comfy bed and want's to get back on, he doesn't fret, he just curls up at the end of the bed and sleeps.
On hot days when its so hot he's dehydrated, he just drink lots of water and then lays under a shady tree.
Your dog adapts to the situation and lives his life carefree.
We would be a lot happier and less stressed if we didn't let every little thing bother us and just adapt to live a little more carefree.
* Taking care of our bodies.
Our bodies are always being over worked and we never seem to get enough sleep.
We're always rushing, pushing to get so much done that the stress piles up until, we eventually burnout physically and mentally.
But dogs, take care of themselves.
They sleeps when they're tired, so they always has energy to run and play later.
When they wake up they stretch properly so they doesn't cramp up.
Because they takes such good care of their bodies they are a lot happier physically and mentally.
* Acceptance.
Your dog values every moment that life gives him.
He does not fight against unfair circumstance our growl when the owner sometimes treats him improper.
He just accepts it and lives on.
He knows that struggling would do nothing but exhaust him and make him miserable.
How many of us just seem to can't accept certain circumstances that are part of life's lessons.
We fight and argue, and cry " Why me, what did I do to deserve this?" But if we could just accept reality, not only will our minds be at peace, but our situation will change miraculously too.
Unconditional love, loyalty, adaptation, taking care of ourselves and acceptance are just a few of the lessons our dog's could teach us to live a happier and less stressful life.
So next time when your just playing around with your dog, pay a little more attention to what our best friends are doing and maybe we could learn a little bit more on how to deal with life average problems.
