  Rubber ducks make a bright and exciting theme for a child's birthday party. Ducks are especially special to young children who still enjoy playing with bath toys, although older children may also enjoy a rubber ducky birthday party. Incorporate the ducky theme into the party through blue and yellow items, along with many toy rubber ducks.
  
  

Invitations

• Take a picture of the child in a bubble bath with rubber ducks floating in the tub and use it on the front of a yellow or blue invitation. Creative ideas for wording include "splish, splash, it's a birthday bash!" and "float on over to our home."
  
  

Decorations

• For an outdoor rubber ducky birthday party, scatter wading pools around the yard and fill them with water and a few rubber ducks each. A bubble machine at the entrance to the yard or home can provide young children with constant entertainment as they chase bubbles. As a centerpiece on each table, tie a bouquet of blue and yellow helium-filled balloons to a stuffed rubber duck.
  
  

Games

• Guests at a rubber ducky party can play duck hunt, a game where children run around the yard or house searching for hidden rubber ducks. Let guests select one of the rubber ducks they found to take home as a party favor. Another game is to create a duck pond wading pool full of ducks, each one with a number written on the bottom in permanent marker. Create goody bags with treats and small toys and number them like the ducks. Have each child fish a duck out of the pond to receive the matching number goody bag.
  
  

Beverages

• Clean rubber ducks can float on the surface of a blue punch made by mixing a blue flavored drink mix into lemon-lime soda and water. For a yellow beverage, make a batch of lemonade and add a few drops of food coloring if the yellow is not vivid enough. Scatter a few scoops of vanilla ice cream across the surface of either beverage to look like large bubbles.
  
  

Cake

• A birthday cake that looks like a bathtub full of water and rubber ducks is sure to please both the eyes and the taste buds. To fill the bathtub with water, make blue gelatin beforehand and pour it into a 2-inch deep cavity hollowed out of the top of a double-layer cake. Spread white frosting on the surface of the bathtub cake and create faucets out of marshmallows and a licorice pipe.
