So then you need to find a new market or go after less competitive keywords until you figure out what your doing & then you can go after those competitive words.

The biggest problem that people have is they have the wrong back links! What I mean by that is they have links from sites that have nothing to do with their market.
That is not good, because if every single site in your market has links from other sites in the market & you only have links from sites that have nothing to do with you - who do you think will get ranked? So make sure you focus on these two strategies and you will get traffic & once you get it, it will come like clockwork.
