How to Avoid Crow's Feet

    • 1). Switch your usual pillowcase out for a satin pillowcase. According to Nicholas Perricone M.D., author of "The Wrinkle Cure," a satin pillowcase will lay smoothly against your face at night, preventing wrinkles caused by rough fabric.

    • 2). Apply sunscreen over your entire face before going out into the sun. Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays that cause skin cancer, sunspots and wrinkles, writes Lowe.

    • 3). Wear sunglasses whenever you are out during the day. This helps prevent you from squinting in an attempt to see clearly when in the bright light of the sun.

    • 4). Apply a facial moisturizer around your eyes before going to bed. According to Howard Murad and Dianne Lange, authors of "Wrinkle-Free Forever," moisturizing before bed keeps the skin hydrated and prevents wrinkles from appearing.

    • 5). Do not smoke cigarettes. Not only is smoking detrimental to your health, but smoke near your eyes causes an involuntary squinting reaction, increasing the likelihood of crow's feet.
