Capable of shooting photographs and videos, the BlackBerry Pearl is equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera. Features include auto-focus, flash and 2.5X digital zoom. The dedicated media keys can be used for instant upload of pictures and video to social media sites such as MySpace and Facebook.
- The BlackBerry Pearl offers both email and texting capabilities on the BlackBerry 3G network. Supporting up to 10 email addresses, the Pearl provides users with the ability to check text, email and social media messages all at once. With BlackBerry Messenger, users can send and receive messages from any location with BlackBerry contacts. Optional notification settings reveal when messages are delivered and read.
- The signature BlackBerry optical trackpad functions much like a computer mouse. Glide a finger over it to scroll through all of the phone's icons and menus. It also functions as a push-button for the selection of desired icons. Additionally, the Pearl comes equipped with SureType technology, which is unique to BlackBerry. It uses intelligent software to "learn" the user's frequently typed words to aid in the process of composing messages and inputting data into the phone.
- The BlackBerry Pearl media player enables the playback of music downloads as well as recorded video clips. Dedicated music playback keys allow quick access to play, pause, skip and repeat commands. The Pearl comes equipped with a 2-gigabyte memory card capable of storing videos, music and pictures. A microSD card slot is included on the smart phone, offering the user an additional 32 GB of storage.
